Lineco Methyl Cellulose Adhesive - Archival Adhesive for Conservation and Restoration Work

Lineco Methyl Cellulose Adhesive is a high-quality, water-based adhesive designed especially for archival use. Acid-free and pH-neutral, it is ideal for archival and restoration projects. It dries clear, providing a clean, professional finish. Particularly convenient is its water reversibility: once dry, the adhesive can be reactivated with water, allowing for adjustments or removal - an invaluable feature when working with historic documents, book pages, or delicate paper.

Thanks to its versatility, this adhesive is suitable for bookbinding, repairing damaged book spines or endpapers, mounting and framing artwork, and creative applications such as collage and paper art. It adheres well to most porous surfaces and is easy to prepare. Once mixed, the adhesive remains usable for several weeks and does not require refrigeration.

Product Features:
• neutral pH, acid-free
• water-reversible
• dries clear
• easy to mix
• stays usable for several weeks without refrigeration
• suitable for paper, board, fabric, and more

Packaging Unit: 42 g container (1.5 oz)

Preparation Instructions

For single use:
1. Stir one rounded tablespoon of powder into 120 ml (1/2 cup) of distilled water.
2. Let stand for several hours.
3. Thin to a mayonnaise-like consistency with additional distilled water.

For larger batches (1 litre):
1. Add five tablespoons of powder to one cup of very hot water and stir briskly to prevent lumps.
2. Once thoroughly dispersed, top up with cold water to make one litre.
3. Let stand for several hours, overnight if possible. Stir before use.
4. To thin, add a few drops of water, mix well, and let stand.
5. When ready to use, pour a small amount into a separate container for active use. Keep the main supply covered and stored separately to avoid contamination or spoilage.

Storage note: Avoid freezing and direct sunlight. Store in a cool, dry place to maintain adhesive effectiveness.
