The Alfamacchine U400 is a powerful semi-automatic underpinner designed for professional framers with medium to high production volumes. It has been specifically developed for workshops producing frames on a regular basis and requiring precision, flexibility and efficient workflows. Thanks to its robust construction, the machine securely joins frame mouldings up to 140 mm (5 ½”) wide.

The Alfamacchine U400 is supplied with a tilting floor stand, allowing the machine to be operated from the front or the back. The adjustable tilt provides flexibility and improved ergonomics, especially when working with large or heavy frames.

The machine uses both horizontal and vertical clamping to securely hold the moulding during the joining process. A single-stage pneumatic foot pedal activates the horizontal clamp, securing the moulding, while a manually operated dual-function control lever (left or right hand operation) positions the nail head and activates the V-Nail driver, allowing V-Nails to be inserted or stacked anywhere along the pre-set stroke distance.

A key performance feature of the U400 is its system of interchangeable metal channel magazines. These allow the operator to quickly change V-Nail sizes without the need for plastic nail cartridges, reducing running costs. The interchangeable channel magazines are easily accessed from the rear of the machine.

With its adjustable working table height and smooth table tilt adjustment, the U400 can be optimally adapted to both the operator and the working environment.
